WPP makes acquisition in Finland

Highly acquisitive media giant WPP has announced that JWT, its wholly-owned advertising agency network, has acquired a majority equity stake in Activeark, a leading full service digital agency in Helsinki, Finland. The agency has operations in both the UK and India and employs more than 80 people. JWT and Activeark will combine their businesses and form a partnership in Finland providing services for both national and international clients. The firm's gross revenues for 2011 were €8.1m with gross assets of €3.4m. WPP said: "This acquisition continues the company's strategy of investing in digital capabilities and its commitment to developing its strategic networks throughout Europe."The share price fell 0.19% to 797p by 14:08.NR
