WPP acquires corporate communications agency

WPP-owned communications agency, Addison Corp. Marketing, has acquired a majority stake in Emaxol, the holding company of IR Group, an online corporate communications agency. The 65-employee group has clients which include Tesco, BG Group, Centrica, Kingfisher, InterContinental Hotels Group, and Tullow Oil. Unauditied revenues for the year ended July 31st 2013 totalled £5.9m, with gross assets of £5.1m. "This investment continues WPP's strategy of developing its services in important markets and sectors and its declared commitment to strengthening its digital capabilities across all its disciplines," the group said.
