Volex still powering on

Strong sales of power cords and cables helped the power products group Volex post a sharp rise in revenues and profits in the year to 5 April.Revenues from continuing operations climbed by 19% from the same period the previous year to £265.1m, with power product sales rising 11% to £150.7m and interconnect sales up 31% to £114.4m. Pre-tax profits climbed to £3.6m from £2.1m.Volex said it would increasingly focus on the emerging markets of China and India which 'present significant opportunities for 'Volex products.'
