Ark Therapeutics is having another go at gaining regulatory approval for its brain cancer drug Cerepro. The European Medicines Agency (EMEA) rejected Cerepro before Christmas because it did not appear to be effective. Ark says that it has assessed the evidence of the Phase III study and it believes that it can address EMEA's concerns. Ark has filed the formal request to re-examine the marketing authorisation application and expects a final decision from the EMEA in the second quarter of 2010. Shares in microwave telecoms components manufacturer Filtronic fell back on profit-taking. They were recommended by a tip sheet during December.
