SSE appoints BAE Finance Director as a director

Gas and electricity supplier SSE has appointed Peter Lynch as a non-executive director of the group and will join the board on July 1st.Lynas is currently Finance Director of BAE systems the FTSE 100-listed aerospace and security company.As announced on March 11th 2014, non-Executive Directors Susan Rice and Thomas Thune Andersen will step down from the Board at the end of SSE's Annual General Meeting on July 17th 2014.Robert Smith, Chairman, said: "I am delighted that Peter will be joining the Board later this year. He will bring the experience and insight he has gained as Finance Director in another UK-listed company and contribute very positively to the work of the Board and its Committees."As of 11:28 the share price had risen 0.65% to 1473.00p.
