LONDON (Dow Jones)--Utility support services group Spice PLC (SPI.LN) Friday said its electricity business has received a five-year extension to its contracts with Electricite de France S.A.'s (DF.FR) EDF Energy division to 2015, on similar terms to previous deals. Spice didn't provide any specific figures but said its Freedom division extended its contracts with electricity distribution company EDF for Major Substation Projects--or improvements to its electrical distribution networks and infrastructure throughout London, the South East and the East of England--and Overhead Line Works--or improvements to EDF's electrical distribution networks and infrastructure in the same regions. "The extended contracts which run to the end of 2015 are of similar value to the previous contracts," Spice said in a statement, without giving any financial details. Spice works with EDF on projects like maintaining substations and replacing switchgears and overhead lines. Spice's Chief Executive Martin Towers said the company's distribution division now has five years of revenue visibility. -By Hannah Benjamin, Dow Jones Newswires; 44-20-7842-9298; [email protected] (END) Dow Jones Newswires July 09, 2010 04:00 ET (08:00 GMT)
