(Sharecast News) - SpaceX said on Tuesday that it has agreed to buy San Francisco-based Anysphere, the owner of AI coding agent Cursor, for $60bn.
In a regulatory filing, SpaceX said the deal is expected to close in the third quarter of this year.
SpaceX already announced in April that it had secured an option to buy Cursor later in the year or pay $10bn for a new partnership.
"The combination of Cursor's leading product and distribution to expert software engineers with SpaceX's million H100 equivalent Colossus training supercomputer will allow us to build the world's most useful models," it said at the time.
News of the acquisition came just days after SpaceX's blockbuster $75bn initial public offering on the Nasdaq.
SpaceX shares were on course to open 7% higher when trading gets underway on Wall Street later.
