LONDON (Dow Jones)--IT security and data protection firm Sophos PLC (SOPH.LN) said Tuesday it has appointed Micro Focus International PLC's (MCRO.LN) former chief financial officer as its new CFO, effective late August. Nick Bray's surprise departure from Micro Focus in June unnerved investors, leading to a sharp share sell-off. He left just a month after Nokia Corp. (NOK) executive Nigel Clifford took the helm as chief executive. Bray, who has worked in the technology sector for 16 years, will be based in Sophos' U.K. headquarters near Oxford, and report to CEO Steve Munford. Bray is an "excellent addition" to its senior management team, Munford said. "His experience and record for success give us additional firepower as we storm ahead," he added. -By Lilly Vitorovich, Dow Jones Newswires; 44-0-207 842 9290; [email protected] (END) Dow Jones Newswires July 27, 2010 05:11 ET (09:11 GMT)
