Severfield-Rowen appoints new head of remuneration committee

Structural steel group Severfield-Rowen announced Alun Griffiths has been appointed as a non-executive director effective May 1st.Griffiths, who is currently HR Director and board member at engineering firm WS Atkins, has held a number of management and corporate positions, including HR, strategy and marketing. He is a non-executive director of the group, Women in Science and Engineering.As well, the company has announced that Keith Elliot, who has acted as a director at the company for 15 years, will retire from his post as Chairman of the remuneration committee and Senior Independent Non-Executive Director. Griffiths will replace Elliot as Chair of the committee, with effect on July 21st.Chief Executive Ian Lawson said: "I am delighted to welcome Alun to the board. He has a strong track record and brings a wealth of experience that will be of significant benefit to the group as it continues its strategic and operational progression."The Board would also like to thank Keith for his extensive contribution and dedication to the Company over a number of years and we wish him well for the future."As of 14:40, the share price had risen 1.2% to 62.75p.
