Stocks were up an average of 3.5% today.Meanwhile, just two sectors were in the red today - tobacco and construction and materials - with some heavyweight constituents going ex-dividend.Cigarettes maker British American Tobacco and Irish building giant CRH were both trading without the right to their latest dividends, providing a drag in their respective sectors.BCTop performing sectors so far todayIndustrial Metals & Mining 4,339.47 +3.49%Forestry & Paper 6,425.12 +2.93%Personal Goods 22,094.55 +2.91%Aerospace and Defence 3,676.18 +2.47%Technology Hardware & Equipment 738.83 +2.29%Bottom performing sectors so far todayTobacco 36,269.46 -1.21%Construction & Materials 3,461.70 -1.19%
