Rolls-Royce wins Turkish Airlines order

Hot on the heels of Tuesday’s engine order from Sichuan Airlines, Rolls-Royce has announced another engine order, this time from Turkish Airlines. The airline has placed an order for V2500 engines to power 20 Airbus A320 aircraft it has on order, with the possibility of up to 10 more engines being added to the order.The V2500 is produced by the International Aero Engines consortium (IAE) in which Rolls-Royce is a senior shareholder. IAE's other partners are Pratt & Whitney, the Japanese Aero Engines Corporation and MTU Aero Engines.The contract is worth up to $170m to Rolls-Royce.The aircraft are scheduled for delivery between 2011 and 2013.
