ExxonMobil (XOM) Thursday reduced feed to a deasphalting unit at its Baytown, Texas, refinery owing to the shutdown of the associated J-1 compressor, a filing to state environmental regulators said. The compressor is expected to restart Friday at about 3:40 p.m. CDT. Motiva (RDSA, RDSB) Friday began five days of repairs at a delayed coker unit's jet pump; the unit will continue to operate, perhaps at reduced rates, while an alternate pump will be used for three hours every seven hours, a filing to regulators said. Tesoro (TSO) will restart a hydrocracker unit at is Los Angeles area refinery Friday, after shutting down, unplanned on Thursday, a person familiar with operations at the plant said Thursday. The company reported an unplanned breakdown of equipment Thursday to California state environmental regulators. Royal Dutch Shell (RDSA, RDSB) on Tuesday said a catalytic reformer unit at its Puget Sound refinery in Anacortes, Washington, will be restarted on June 28 after going off-line on June 19 when a fire broke during the shutdown process of an associated heater shut to fix a small leak. The unit is expected to resume normal processing rates by June 30, the company said. Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) Monday said that a coker unit at its Benicia, California, refinery was shut over the June 19-20 weekend for unplanned maintenance following two reportable emission events on Thursday. There is not restart estimate. Valero Energy Corp. said Monday that planned maintenance got underway over the June 19-20 weekend to de-coke a coker unit at complex 7 of the east plant section of its Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery.
