Digital services firm Publishing Technology announced today that the Chief Operations Officer for its online division, Michael Cairns, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO).Cairns will assume the role on April 1st.Current CEO George Lossius will step down from the board as per the announcement made on March 3rd.Since joining the group in May 2013 Cairns has created a strategy and restructured the online division to focus on business development and operational efficiency. Publishing Technology now expects Cairns to carry that same momentum across the rest of the company.He has 20 years' experience in digital publishing and has held many senior positions including Chairman of the International ISBN committee and has helped to launch several start-up content-related businesses. The group has highlighted the new CEO's track record "in driving business growth and efficiency, particularly in digital publishing", which fits in well with the group's next phase of growth.
