(ShareCast News) - OPG Power was celebrating on Monday, with the news that the second half of its Gujarat power plant had begun operations over the weekend.The AIM-traded company confirmed, in an update to the market, that the second 150 MW unit at the site in western India had started operating on 30 January 2016.OPG Power had previously indicated that a new multi-circuit transmission line - vital for the second 150 MW unit to begin operations - had been completed in early October 2015.At the time, the company said the state transmission authority was to test and commission the line-related infrastructure, including the sub-station and switchyard, which had now been completed.OPG Power's board said it expected to issue its third quarter trading update in the week of 22 February 2016.
