Mondi, the paper and packaging company, has confirmed that its underlying operating profit for the second quarter of 2012 is expected to be higher than that of the first quarter, but below that the 175m euros achieved in the comparable prior year period. As as result, underlying operating profit for the first half is also expected to be lower than that of same period last year.
