Mitie awarded seven-year NHS contract

FTSE 250-listed outsourcing group Mitie has landed a contract with Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT) to deliver soft facilities management services over a seven-year period.Under the contract, which has a total value of more than £90m and a possible three-year extension, the group will provide a range of services including cleaning, portering, catering, laundry and security. Ruby McGregor-Smith, Mitie's Chief Executive, said: "We are delighted to be awarded the contract with Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust and look forward to welcoming our new colleagues in the coming months."We are committed to working in partnership with the Trust to delivering safe, quality FM services that will support the excellent clinical services they provide to the people of Cornwall."Shares had declined 1.69% to 321.29p by 13:03 on Friday.
