0726 GMT [Dow Jones] Essar Energy (ESSR.LN) and African Barrick Gold (ABG.LN) are likely to be promoted to the FTSE 100, when the results of the June quarterly review are announced after Wednesday's market close, says Vijay Sumon, quantitative analyst at HSBC. The stocks, now ranked 46 and 85 respectively of top UK companies by market capitalization, based on Tuesday's market close, are likely to replace Thomas Cook (TCG.LN), ranked 124 and the London Stock Exchange (LSE.LN) ranked 125. Changes to the index will become effective after the market close Friday June 18. Essar shares +0.9% at 442p, African Barrick +0.2% at 639p.
