South America-focused Mariana Resources said that sampling at its Rurimarac gold project in Peru has confirmed "high-grade bonanza results".Surface sampling at the project, located in the Cordillera Negra metallogenic province, showed a zone of high-grade gold mineralisation along a low-angle fault zone that has not been drill tested by previous explorers.Chief executive Glen Parson said the results were "extremely encouraging".Ongoing exploration at Rurimarac will include drilling at least eight core holes, subject to approvals.The stock was up 1.4% at 1.8p by 14:25.
