(Sharecast News) - WPP announced that John Rogers had joined the advertising group as chief financial officer designate from Sainsbury's.
Rogers worked at Sainsbury's for 14 years and ran its Argos business for three years before joining WPP. He left Sainsbury's in October soon after his appointment at WPP was announced.
He joined WPP's board on 3 February and will take over from current CFO Paul Richardson after the publication of its annual report and accounts.
Rogers was seen as a potential replacement for Sainsbury's chief executive Mike Coupe, who has since announced his departure. His arrival at WPP completes the revamp of leadership at the FTSE 100 company after the acrimonious departure of founder Martin Sorrell in 2018.
