Hornby launches pick-up delivery service at train stations

(ShareCast News) - Iconic British railway modeler Hornby has partnered with DPD, a parcel delivery company, in a bid to enhance its supply chain.Under this agreement, the group will launch a train station parcel collection via Doddle. Consumers will be able to pick-up their online orders from a range of retail locations across the UK.It added it has launched a new IT system which will give an upgrade of its logistics, data and financial capabilities.Chief executive Richard Ames said: "DPD runs an award-winning delivery service and with Doddle as a partner enthusiasts will have the convenience of being able to collect their model train purchases from a major train station near them."Shares rose 1.78% to 94.66p on Friday.
