(Sharecast News) - Food packaging business Hilton Food said on Friday that it has agreed to sell Dalco Food, its Netherlands‑based vegan and vegetarian business, to Livekindly Production for £5.4m, as it continues to streamline operations and refocus on its core meat and fresh prepared food divisions.
Hilton Food said the disposal aligned with its strategy to prioritise investment in higher‑return areas while improving performance across its seafood, vegan and vegetarian units.
Dalco will be classified as an asset held for sale in Hilton's interim results on 3 September, with the business expected to report adjusted operating losses of around £2m for the first half.
The FTSE 250-listed group added that the sale supports its broader plan to maximise value and concentrate resources on its main protein categories, where it sees the strongest long‑term growth opportunities.
Hilton added that deal remains subject to standard approvals, including consultation with Dalco's works council.
As of 1115 BST, Hilton Food shares were up 0.92% at 573.20p.
