Hargreaves steps down as Hargreaves Lansdown CEO

Hargreaves Lansdown has announced that Peter Hargreaves, the co-founder of the fund manager, will step down as chief executive in the autumn of 2010.Ian Gorham, who has been chief operating officer since September 2009, will be appointed as deputy chief executive with immediate effect and will, subject to FSA approval, become chief executive.Peter Hargreaves, who co-founded the firm with Stephen Lansdown in 1981, will remain an executive director, concentrating on client liaison.He will also remain closely involved in producing the firm's newsletters and investment information, the group added.
