Not content with having an outlet on just about every high street in the country, baked snacks retailer Greggs is to start peddling its wares at motorway service stations.The company is to start a trial with Moto, the operator of service stations, with two outlets being opened under a franchise agreement. The first will be opened in Lymm, Cheshire."This will enable Greggs and Moto to assess the market for Greggs freshly baked food within motorway services and also the viability of a franchise operation, which is new for Greggs," Greggs said. "The trial will run for 12 months and then a decision will be taken on whether to roll out to at least 30 locations across the Moto network."Moto chief executive Tim Moss said: "The brand fits within our leading portfolio of franchise partners and offers even more choice for consumers."Moto's current franchise partners include Costa Coffee and Burger King.---RG
