Shares in the African energy firm Ophir leapt over 18 per cent on Monday after it announced a record gas discovery off the coast of Tanzania.The firm said the 4.5tr cubic feet (TCF) of gas discovery at its Jodari-1 well, exceeded pre-drill estimates by 55%. EazyJet was also on the up after Prime Markets recommended to buy shares of the budget airline, saying that today's first-half guidance upgrade provides 'great upside momentum'. Seals and cylinders maker Diploma was wanted after it raised sales and profits guidance following a good showing from a strongly performing Seals division. US broker Jefferies said this morning that consensus profit estimates for Diploma should increase as a result of today's statement.Meanwhile, Cable & Wireless Worldwide was falling after Vodafone and Tata Communications reportedly requested more time to decide whether or not to purchase the company for £1bn.
