Technology tool maker Oxford Instruments was higher after hailing an improved set of full-year results, with orders, sales and profits all ahead of the prior year.JD Sports Fashion was lifted by expectations of increased sales ahead of the start of the World Cup on Friday. Lonmin led to the downside after it yesterday revealed that talks between it and platinum strikers have "unfortunately been dissolved without an outcome". The discussions, which had also involved Amplats and Impala, were being held in a bid to resolve the platinum wage strike, which is currently in its 21st week. Also in the red was Ted Baker after Oriel Securities downgraded the shares from 'buy' to 'add', despite it reporting a strong start to the year. Oriel said that upside is limited given the stock's current valuation. The company revealed that group revenues jumped 17.9% in the first 19 weeks of its financial year, helped by a strong performance across established markets and "progress" in its newer markets.Booker Group declined after Goldman Sachs lowered its target price from 214p to 200p and downgraded it from 'strong buy' to 'buy'.
