FTSE 250 movers: Bwin.party jumps after confirming speculation of 'potential business combinations'

Bwin.party shares jumped after it confirmed speculation that it has started discussions with various parties about potential business combinations. The company said the talks may or may not result in an offer being made.UK price comparison website firm Moneysupermarket.com cheered after reporting an 18% increase in revenue for the three months to 30 September.Plastic and packaging components group Essentra pleased investors with its proposal for a £160m fundraising after agreeing to acquire a Dutch healthcare packaging business for $455m (£285m). The group has signed an agreement to buy the specialist packaging division of Amsterdam-based Clondalkin Group, which is owned by US private equity giant Warburg Pincus.Meanwhile, shares in online gaming software group Playtech retreated after it unveiled plans for a €315m convertible bond issue in order to pursue acquisitions.
