Satellite operator Inmarsat is the best performer after it gained a contract worth $115m a year. Inmarsat has commenced phase 2 of its agreement with LightSquared which has led to an immediate payment to Inmarsat of $20.1m. The money is paid quarterly and the initial payment is a partial quarterly payment. Inmarsat will provide additional spectrum capacity to the LightSquared network. Insurer Resolution is more than 7% higher over the week. Rival Aviva is nearly 4% ahead over the past seven days. Resources companies are among the main fallers. Essar Energy and Fresnillo are the worst performers. GlaxoSmithKline is down after news that development of sleeping pill almorexant has been halted due to safety concerns.
