The City watchdog has summoned ex-Royal Bank of Scotland boss Sir Fred Goodwin to answer questions about the bank's management in the run up to its near-collapse in October 2008, according to reports. It's thought the former boss will meet with the Financial Services Authority at the office of his lawyers rather than at the regulator's Canary Wharf office in order to avoid the press, says the paper. The meeting is planned for today, although it could be delayed.Other RBS directors, as well as chiefs at HBOS, now owned by Lloyds, are also being questioned by the FSA about their part in the near-collapse of the banking system. It's the latest move by the regulator to bring those responsible to account.Last month, it banned RBS's former head of investment banking Johnny Cameron from taking another top job in the City in return for not paying a fine or admitting wrongdoing.
