What would probably have been a routine, and likely bullish, update from Rolls-Royce tomorrow took on new significance earlier in the week following the engine explosion on a Qantas A-380 super-jumbo powered by the aero-engine maker.Investigations have already got underway with the Europe Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) now ordering all airlines to carry out inspections into Rolls-Royce's Trent 900 engines.EASA, which certified the Trent 900 in 2004, said preliminary investigations showed the incident on a flight from Singapore to Sydney last week was probably caused by a fire.Rolls-Royce has so far played a straight bat, saying it is working with its customers to find the fault and it may take the same line again tomorrow.Money broker Tullet Prebon is another in the news for reasons it must wish it wasn't. The broker has this week been accused of stealing proprietary pricing data from rival BGC, which is seeking "hundred of millions of dollars" of damages following the alleged theft, according to a lawsuit filed in New York.The group reported revenue in the four months ended October last year of £302m.
