(Sharecast News) - Mouthwash and haemorrhoid cream specialist Venture Life Group was on the list of buys on Friday, after its chair spent almost £50k on shares.

The AIM-traded consumer products company said non-executive chairman Paul McGreevy purchased 138,571 of its shares for 35p each, spending a total of £48,499.85.

It said that following the purchase, McGreevy had a beneficial interest in 287,439 of its shares, representing 0.23% of its issued share capital.

Elsewhere, distilling giant Diageo also disclosed a purchase made by its chairman, worth just over £8k.

The FTSE 100 maker of Don Julio tequila said Javier Ferrán bought 235 shares "under an arrangement with the company".

Ferrán paid 3,521p for each share, valuing the transaction at £8,274.35.
