Bob Diamond's family trust has invested nearly £1m in Barclays shares. The Barclays chief executive elect is a connected person to the Diamond Family Foundation, which has bought 363,179 shares at an average price of 273.97p a share. The total cost was £995,000. Diamond, who takes over as chief executive on 1 April 2011, has a total beneficial interest in just over 9.9m shares in Barclays. Diamond currently runs investment banking business Barclays Capital, which is in the process of making hundreds of employees redundant. Barclays managed to achieve a small increase in nine-month profit, though the investment banking arm made 14% less than it did the quarter before. Profit for the three months to September 2010 rose to £1.27bn from £1.17bn.
