Cruise operator Carnival has appointed the Chairman and former Chief Executive Officer of Costa Cruises, Pier Luigi Foschi, to oversee the company's growth strategies within the expanding Asian region. Foschi will now be responsible for establishing Carnival's new corporate offices in Singapore and providing guidance and assistance to the organisation's various operating units in pursuing their Asian cruise strategies. The Asian operations currently consist of three ships, based in China, Japan and Singapore. Foschi, who retired from his role as Chief Executive Officer in July, will continue to serve in his current role of Chairman and a managing director of the Costa group and as a member of the board of directors of Carnival.
