Capita has received approval from NHS England to join the new lead provider framework for Commissioning Support Services.NHS England has estimated that between £3bn and £5bn worth of services will come out of the framework.Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) will have to re-procure much of their support services by April 2016 if they wish to comply with EU law. However, NHS England has put free procurement and legal support in place to aid the process, which should take three months per contract, the firm added.Capita was chosen after a rigorous selection process, it said.Chief executive officer Andy Parker said: "Our approval to join this framework is a testament to Capita's experience in the health sector and wider public sector.
