MUMBAI (Dow Jones)--Cairn India Ltd. (532792.BY) Tuesday said its fiscal first-quarter net profit rose more than six times from a year earlier, helped by crude production at its west India field. Net profit for the three months ended June 30 surged to INR2.81 billion from INR454.4 million a year earlier, but was below analysts' expectations. Revenue during the quarter rose to INR8.41 billion from INR2.05 billion, Cairn India said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.
