BT Finance Director makes most of recent run in share price

Tony Chanmugam, the Group Finance Director of BT Group, has taken advantage of the recent run in the group's share price, selling 125,000 shares at 400p apiece. The value of the stock initially fell after the telecoms giant posted record fourth quarter consumer revenues as investors engaged in a period of profit taking. However, in the past two weeks or so, the price of the shares has risen from around 362p. Group pre-tax earnings before interest, depreciation and amortisation in the year to March 31st were flat at £6.1bn, but adjusted pre-tax profit rose 6% to £2.8bn. Adjusted earnings per share for the year lifted 7% to 28.2p.The company said it was hiking its full year dividend by 15% to 10.9p and expects to increase its dividend by 10%-15% in each of the next two years.The £500,000 deal has left Chanamugam with 899,227 shares.
