DOW JONES NEWSWIRES BP PLC (BP, BP.LN) is prepared to suspend its second-quarter dividend payment, and a final decision is likely only after top company officials meet with U.S. President Barack Obama Wednesday, the Financial Times reports on its website Friday, without citing sources. The BP officials will promise to retain enough cash to pay for all legitimate claims related to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the FT says, but they will reject calls to pay wages to oil rig workers who will be laid off due to a U.S. moratorium on deepwater drilling.
