(Sharecast News) - Avingtrans has secured roughly £3m worth of orders to supply high integrity pumps for the Astute class submarine programme.The pumps will be provided by Avingtrans' Hayward Tyler unit in Luton, which has been working on Britain's nuclear submarine fleet since it began supplying equipment to the Valiant class boats in the 1960s.Hayward Tyler will support the Astute project with the supply of original equipment and aftermarket support for the lifetime of the boat.Mike Turmelle, managing director of the division, said: "We are delighted to secure this contract for continued support to the UK nuclear submarine fleet. It's a great win for our Luton team and a clear indication of our commitment to continue supporting the programme for many more decades to come."Hayward Tyler's sister companies, Peter Brotherhood, Stainless Metalcraft and Ormandy Rycroft also support the UK Royal Navy, including the recent manufacture and testing of steam turbines for Astute.As of 0915 BST, Avingtrans shares had picked up 3.52% to 219.99p.
