Sub-Saharan Africa-focused miner Aureus Mining has reassured investors that no cases of the Ebola virus have been reported or suspected across its operations.While construction is continuing at its New Liberty gold project in Liberia, "non-essential staff" have been granted leave, including the exploration team after the end of the drilling season."Aureus has established and implemented the appropriate precautionary measures and contingency plans to ensure the company, its employees, contractors and visitors are not placed under unnecessary risks," the company said on Friday.Aureus said it is working with the Liberian government to support "proactive actions in minimising the impact of Ebola".The company said that it will continue to monitor the situation closely and all efforts are being made to ensure New Liberty remains on track.The stock was down 2.1% at 23p by 08:30.BC
