(Sharecast News) - Arena Events has appointed Chris Morris as its new chief executive of UK and European operations.Morris, who will join the group on 19 March, was most recently the managing director of CH & Co's events and destinations division.Chief executive Greg Lawless said: "We are delighted to welcome Chris to the Arena team. He has held a number of senior executive positions within the sports, leisure and hospitality sectors and is very well known in the industry."Chris brings a wealth of knowledge to his new position and I believe he will be a great asset to the Arena Group as we continue to grow the UK division over the coming years".Arena saw shares plummet in January after the temporary structures provider lowered earnings expectations due to "disappointing" operational issues in the UK.The AIM-listed company, which has supplied tents, flooring, temporary seating and other structures for events such as Wimbledon and the wedding of Prince Harry and Megan Markle, told investors back in January that adjusted EBITDA for the calendar year was now expected to be between £12m and £12.5m - lower than previously indicated due to materially higher incremental costs increases at its UK Structures and Scaffolding division.As of 1040 GMT, Arena Events shares had inched back 0.31% to 33.40p.
