(ShareCast News) - Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded a contract worth about £35m to supply the UK Ministry of Defence with research and technology services.The work, for the MoD's Naval Nuclear Propulsion Programme, will be carried out over five years and will sustain about 70 jobs at Amec's offices and laboratories in Warrington and Dorchester in the UK.The R&T contract covers critical areas of capability such as materials performance, materials science, modelling, code development, thermal hydraulics and non-destructive testing and examination.Clive White, President of Amec's Clean Energy business, said: "We are valued for our technical expertise, comprehensive laboratory and analytical resources, strong relationships with academia, and best-in-class project and programme management.
