(ShareCast News) - Shares in AdEPT Telecom surged over 9% on Tuesday, after the provider of voice and data telecoms services said its interim pre-tax profit edged higher.In the six months to the end of September, the group posted pre-tax profit of £1.2m, a 9% year-on-year increase, as revenue jumped 23% to £13.9m.AdEPT said the increase in revenue was boosted by the acquisition of communication provider Centrix, which it completed in May this year for £10.5m.The London-listed company added the acquisition of Centrix helped it secure a number of public sector contracts in the first half of the year, with more commercial partnerships targeted in the medium-term future.As a result of the new contracts, Premier division, the group's segment which handles the bigger mandates, is now contributing to 70% of total revenue, compared with 55% a year ago, AdEPT added.The group said it remains upbeat over its outlook and plans to pay an interim dividend of 3p per share, a 33% year-on-year increase.AdEPT shares were up 9.10% to 272.75p at 1504 GMT on Tuesday.
